Saturday Course Teachers

The Saturday Course at Milton Academy provides a rich learning environment for independently motivated students in Grades 4-8 from surrounding community schools.

Milton Academy seeks classroom teachers for The Saturday Course Program in a variety of disciplines including; robotics, science, and cultural classes. Previous teaching experience required. Successful candidates will possess a passionate and dynamic approach to their subject area.

The program is structured in 5 sessions from September to May; each session consists of 6 Saturdays. Hours for these part-time positions are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Candidates are not required to commit to all 5 sessions.

Substitute Teachers

Milton Academy, established in 1798, is an independent coeducational national boarding and day school, serving 1,000 students in grades K-12 on a 125 acre campus eight miles south of Boston.

Milton Academy seeks substitute teachers for lower school and middle school classes. This role will be utilized for absences that are planned as well as late-notification situations. Whenever possible, advanced notice will be given to a substitute so that they can prepare accordingly.

The substitute teacher will be expected to follow the lesson plans outlined by the primary teacher, and work with other members of the Lower School faculty to ensure that there is effective classroom management and supervision of students both for the classes and other activities during the day (i.e. lunch, recess, etc.).

A successful candidate will have experience teaching, excellent organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
