Philosophy of Camp
-
Our goal at the Milton Academy Summer Hockey Camp is to increase each player’s knowledge of the game and improve his or her skills through a coordinated program that will be FUN.
-
Talented and knowledgeable coaches will lead small groups in a range of activities designed to meet each player’s developmental stage and to promote individual growth and enjoyment of hockey.
-
The Camp will provide on and off-ice training to allow players to improve their overall condition as they gain new insights, abilities and confidence in their game.
-
Individual attention from a veteran coaching staff, diverse activities, a state-of-the-art facility and a constant focus on fun with new friends add up to an invaluable summer experience for your hockey player.

Program Overview
All sessions are designed to improve individual hockey skills and enhance knowledge of the game. The main focus is on the following:
- GENERAL HOCKEY SKILLS: edge work, quickness and speed, shooting and passing, stick handling, checking (if age appropriate) and read and react drills.
- POSITION SKILLS: small breakout groups will teach forwards and defensemen specialized aspects of their positions.
- OFF-ICE CONDITIONING: programs are age appropriate and will improve overall balance, strength, eye-hand coordination and stamina.
- SPORTSMANSHIP: team and individual activities build cooperation, positive attitude and self-confidence in a supportive environment.
Camp Descriptions
FULL-DAY CAMPS: Each one-week session is designed to handle 60 skaters. There will be a total of three hours of ice time daily, as well as three hours of off-ice conditioning. (Sessions 2C, 3C)

NEW! Girls Boarding Program
Become Your Best by Working with the Best
Girls’ ice hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in America, and due to overwhelming demand, we are expanding our long running girls’ hockey camp to include a boarding component. The camp is structured for individuals who posses solid basic skills, including skating and passing. If you are motivated, determined and willing to work hard then this is the camp for you. This program will challenge you both on and off the ice. On-ice sessions with top female college and high school coaches will guide each camper to a higher level of play. While campers will be pushed physically and mentally, we will maintain a FUN atmosphere, which makes this camp unique. So, lace up your skates for six days of intense hockey and you’ll walk away with a smile on your face, new friends and improved hockey skills.
Please note that this camp is not appropriate for beginner players.
