Dear Class II Parents and Students,
We invite you to attend the College Counseling Presentation on Saturday, February 4. This is our traditional “kick off” event, signaling the beginning of the college process for our Class II students. The February 4 program will include three sessions: an explanation of Milton’s college process by one of the counselors, a panel of current seniors who will share their experiences, and an “insider’s” perspective on admissions by a college admissions officer. In past years, parents and students have found the three sessions very informative and helpful in getting started on this important journey. Download the detailed schedule.
Our individual meetings with students can begin the week after this opening event. We will have at least two meetings with each student before the end of the junior year, more if needed. We also encourage parents to meet with us, if possible, once we have had an initial meeting with their child. Prior to our February presentation, we will continue to focus most of our energy on the current seniors. Even so, if your circumstances require more immediate input from us, please feel free to call.
The most immediate decision students need to make is when to take standardized tests. The following schedule provides the best choices for the rest of this school year. Nearly all students will take the Subject Tests in June. (It does not matter which Subject Tests students sign up for; those can be changed up to and including the day of the test.) In our initial meeting, we will help each student decide which Subject Tests to take.
