Frequently Asked Questions
Am I eligible to participate?
Yes, if you are a student in class II or III and have completed at least two years of Spanish. You should be open to the differences in the Spanish culture and willing to adapt to the Spanish way of life. Please be aware that this program is not compatible with the Milton Mountain School, City School, or any other program which would preclude your full participation in both parts of the exchange (i.e. June and September).
When do I apply?
Applications are made available in October and are due at the beginning of December. Scroll up to download an application.
What happens to my Milton course work if I go?
As a participant in the Spanish Exchange, you will miss at most a few days at the end of the school year; however, you must be in good standing in all of your courses to be considered for the program and will be expected to communicate the departure date to your teachers. You will only be responsible for coursework up to the date of departure and will receive regular year grades. In addition, a report on your participation in the Exchange will be entered into your academic record.
What is the cost of the program?
The projected cost for 2012 is approximately $2,600. (Price may vary based on the cost of airfare.) Limited financial aid is available. You should budget about $400-500 for personal spending money.
