To the students of Milton Academy:

Treat this catalogue as an invitation to explore. The courses described here allow you to investigate an academic discipline for the first time, pursue an intellectual or artistic passion, and establish the foundation for such exploration later in your years here. To benefit fully from these opportunities, you will need to select your courses with care and forethought. Keep these strategies in mind as you reflect on your own academic aspirations:

• Map out the courses that you may want to take over the course of your Milton career, always keeping course prerequisites and graduation requirements in mind. Many courses do not need to be taken in a specific year, so use this flexibility to create a pro-gram that suits your needs.
  
  
• Remember the importance of second choices, as some courses may fill up and others may not run if enrollment is insufficient.
  
  
• Seek out the people available to offer advice about your course selections. Advisors, classroom teachers, fellow students, and the registrar can all provide invaluable guidance and perspective.
