Number of volumes: 46,000 (open stacks).

Number of periodicals: Approximately 180 subscriptions, including foreign language periodicals (not including those available only on periodical databases).

Automated catalog: Can be accessed from terminals throughout the library and from Cox Library Research Resources page, both on and off campus.

Electronic Resources: Encyclopedia Britannica, Book Catalogs of Milton Academy and Massachusetts libraries, and periodical databases providing full text access to articles in magazines, newspapers and journals. These databases include Proquest, Ethnic Newswatch, Lexis-Nexis Scholastic Universe, InfoTrac, Boston Globe and Electronic Library.

Microform: Primary sources including the entire run of the New York Times since 1851. Several readers and reader/printers available.

Cox Library is a member of the Cooperative Library Association (CLA), a group of 30 independent schools in the Greater Boston area. The schools share a list of periodicals and inter-library loan capability. Cox Library is also a member of the Southeastern Massachusetts Library System which provides access to interlibrary loan, electronic resources and continuing education for librarians. This regional system is funded by the state.
