COLLEGE OFFICE
CLASS OF 2009 NEWSLETTER #3
á March 11, 2008á
* There are ONLY 3 DAYS
left before Spring Break and 4 DAYS after break to schedule your first-round
college meeting with a counselor!
For your first meetingÉ
o You must turn in
your Student
Response Form (SRF) with essay the day before your meeting.
o Your advisor should
also attend your first scheduled meeting.
(Please provide your advisor with a copy of your SRF prior to the
meeting.) It is your
responsibility to find out your advisor's free periods and schedule a meeting
accordingly.
o Please honor the time
slot you sign up for. When you
cancel at the last minute, that time slot is often unable to be filled by
another junior and is then wasted.
o Weekly sign-up sheets for appointments are posted every Thursday
morning for the following weekÕs schedule in Mrs. LombardÕs office (first
office on the right as your enter Straus). Remember, you must meet with two
different college counselors for your two required meetings this year.
* To help with your
college visits, the College Counseling Office has put together a College/University
Visit Cluster List. This list is by no
means exhaustive; it is meant to serve as a good starting point when beginning
a college search. The list is
available at www.milton.edu under ÒAcademics-College Counseling-Class II Information.Ó Happy Travels!
* Late registration for
the April 12 ACT runs from March 11-21.
You should register at www.actstudent.org. Students are responsible for their own ACT registration. (Milton Academy is a test site for the
April 12 ACT.)
* The registration
deadline for the May 3 SAT and Subject Tests is April 1. You should register
at www.collegeboard.com. Students are responsible for their
own SAT registration. (Milton
Academy is a test site for the May 3 SAT and Subject Tests.)
