Mustangs Honored At Annual Fall Sports Dessert

Mustang Varsity Athletes were honored at the annual Fall Awards Dessert. Fall season highlights included a 2nd Place finish at the ISL’s by the Girls’ Cross Country team and Class A tournament bids for Girls’ Soccer and Field Hockey. Boys' Soccer was awarded the Fritz Weidergott Improvement Trophy, which is presented to the boys' soccer team that improves its standing in the ISL by the most number of points from one season to the next. The Fall Varsity Coaches talked briefly about their respective seasons before turning the focus to the individual awards. In addition to team honors, twenty-six Mustangs received ISL recognition for their performances this season.

Anne Sheridan Named Varsity Girls' Lacrosse Coach
Athletic Director Lamar Reddicks has announced the appointment of Anne Sheridan as the
new head coach of the Mustangs varsity girls’ lacrosse program. “I hope everyone is excited as I am to have Anne Sheridan as our new girls’ lacrosse coach.“ remarked Lamar Reddicks. “She brings with her a wealth of experience as a player and a coach."
A 2005 graduate of Boston University, Sheridan earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Sheridan was an integral part of a successful BU team that was three-time America East Conference Champions, and made two NCAA tournament appearances.
At the goalie position, Sheridan was given her share of individual accolades, including being named to the NCAA All-American 1st Team in her senior season. Other honors in 2005 included being named Inside Lacrosse Goaltender of the Year, America East Conference Player of the Year, America East All-Conference 1st Team, and America East All-Championship team.
Coach Sheridan joins the Milton Academy coaching staff with a wealth of college coaching experience. After graduating from BU, she joined the coaching staff from 2005-2010 where her major responsibilities included working with the goalkeepers and defense. She was a member of a staff that achieved five consecutive America East Conference regular season and tournament championships, and NCAA tournament appearances. After BU, Sheridan spent the 2010-2011 season as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at the University of Louisville.
Coach Sheridan expressed her enthusiasm for the season. "I am excited for this opportunity to join the Milton Academy family and to take Mustang girl's lacrosse to the next level. Milton Academy strives for excellence in the classroom and on the field and I'm thrilled to be a part of such a winning tradition. We will work hard and look to make an impact in the Independent School League. I can't wait to get the 2012 season started."
Coach Sheridan is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She attended the Roland Park Country School, where in addition to lacrosse, she lettered in field hockey and squash. She currently lives with her fiancé in Framingham, MA.
Milton Harriers Earn All-New England Honors, Compete in All-Star Race

Milton Cross Country runners, Danielle Frederick '12, Ben Bosworth '13 and Lindsay Atkeson '13 wrapped up their season in grand fashion by earning Division One All-New England honors. All three were selected for the All-New England All Star Team after their top twenty finishes at the NEPSTA D-1 Championships at Phillips Andover Academy. Along with the honor came the opportunity to compete in the NEPSTA All Star races on November 19 where they finished 12th, 21st and 30th, respectively in their races. Congratulations on a great season.
