L 11 - 4 |
| We ran into a hot serving Belmont Hill team on their incredibly fast indoor courts and suffered our first defeat of the season. Playing well for Milton were Andrew Lebovitz at 1st singles who prevailed 6 - 2, 6 - 1, and Noah Bragg who posted a 6 - 4, 6 - 1 victory at 3rd. Many other sets were close but we were unable to pull them out. We now have a record of 5 - 1 and next play a tough Thayer team here on the North Courts on Wednesday. |

L 11 - 4 |
| The boys varsity tennis team lost to Thayer yesterday by a score of 11 - 4. the score was deceiving as we were serving to win three other sets and failed to do so in each case. Had we taken those sets, the outcome of the match probably would have been different. Winning a point each for Milton were Noah Bragg at 3rd singles and Will Hunnewell at 4th. Josh Cohen was able to win both his sets at 6th singles. We next play Lawrence at home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. |

L 8 - 7 |
| The boys varsity tennis team put in a much improved effort against the first place team from Roxbury Latin but came up short by an 8 - 7 score. Playing particularly well for Milton were Andrew Lebovitz who won all three of his sets at first doubles and first singles and Mike Chao who teamed with Andrew in doubles and then narrowly missed winning his first singles set but gutted out the second and emerged with a split. Winning one singles set each for the Mustangs were Noah Bragg at third singles, Will Hunnewell at fourth and Josh Cohen at sixth. We will strive to continue to improve as we take on Governor's on Friday and then Andover on Saturday. |

W 8 - 3 |
| After being forced inside by rain onto a very slick rubberized surface, the boys varsity tennis team adjusted well enough to record an 8 - 3 victory over Governor's. Will Hunnewell and Noah Bragg each won three sets for Milton. Andrew Lebovitz and Mike Chao came back from a 4 - 7 deficit to earn a match point but were forced to a tiebreaker when their opponent hit a second serve ace on that deuce point. Unfortunately the breaker did not go our way. Andrew rebounded to win his first singles set and Josh Cohen sealed the victory by taking his first set at 6th singles. Since it was so late the match was stopped and the other four sets were not completed. We next play at Exeter on Wednesday. |

The longest match of the day went to Josh who defeated his game opponent in two hard fought tie-breakers. We are now 8 - 3 and play a tough Andover team on Friday. |

L 8 - 7 |
| An excellent effort by the boys varsity tennis team fell just short in an 8 - 7 loss to league leading St. Paul's. The match began on a positive note when we took two of the three doubles matches. Andrew and Mike recorded a convincing 8 - 4 victory at 1st and Noah and Anthony came up big late to score an 8 - 6 win at 3rd. Andrew kept his cool and played intelligently against a very unorthodox player and recorded a 6 - 2, 6 - 4 victory at 1st singles. Will fought back from a tough first set loss to take the second by a score of 6 - 4 at 4th. Noah won a tight first set by breaking his opponent late and then repeated the feat with everyone watching to tie the overall match at 7 points each. Captain Mike Chao was locked in a titanic struggle at 3rd with the score tied 4 games all with his opponent serving at 30 all. His opponent eventually held and was able to break serve which gave the incredibly close match to St. Paul's. We travel to B.B.N. today and will attempt to rebound. |

W 10 - 5 |
| The boys varsity tennis team recorded a quality 10 - 5 win yesterday against a solid team from B.B.N. Our steady improvement in doubles continued as we were able to sweep all three matches. Andrew and Mike won 8 - 5 at 1st, Will and David took 2nd 8 - 4, and Noah and Anthony won seven games in a row to erase a 4 - 1 deficit and record the victory at 3rd. As for singles, our top four players were dominant winning seven of the eight sets that they played. This solid performance should give the team some momentum heading into the New England Tournament where we will face Hotchkiss in the Quarterfinals on Saturday morning at Loomis Chaffee. |

|
| The boys varsity tennis team traveled to Loomis Chaffee to play a very strong Hotchkiss team in the quarterfinals of the New England Class "A" tournament on Saturday morning. We came out of the gates strong in the doubles and served for the match twice in a row at both 1st and 3rd. Unfortunately we were unable to finish and ended up playing tie-breakers to decide each match. Noah and Anthony were able to pull theirs out by a 7 - 4 score but Andrew and Mike fell 3 - 7 to give the doubles point to Hotchkiss. The disappointment of not winning the doubles carried over into singles as we lost the first set at positions 1 through 5. Will and Noah showed great heart and determination to win their second sets and were in solid positions in their thirds. Mike was battling hard to join them when his opponent hit a couple of lines and the net was unkind and he fell by a score of 5 - 7. This gave the match to Hotchkiss. The six players who will be returning to the team next spring gained valuable experience and now know what it will take to succeed at the New England level. We have two matches remaining, at Groton on Wednesday and home against arch rivals Nobles on Friday. |

Seeing his first varsity match experience, Ben Lin was able to capture his second set at 6th singles by a 6 - 2 score to record our last point. We are now 10 - 4 in the ISL and finish the season tomorrow at home against a solid team from Nobles. |

| The boys varsity tennis team finished their season in fine style with a resounding 12 - 3 victory against Nobles! All eight players who participated earned at least one point for Milton. David and Anthony won their doubles sets by scores of 8 - 6, and 8 - 3 respectively. Ben won his first set at 6th singles to record his second consecutive successful outing. Andrew won his 1st doubles match and then split his singles sets to record two points. Noah, Mike, and Will each swept all three of their sets to cap off our fourth consecutive victory over teams with winning records. We would like to wish our captain Mike Chao the best of luck next year as he attends Bentley. We will miss his leadership. |
