Week of April 1, 2013


Erika Lamere '14: Erika is off to a fantastic start for the Varsity Softball team. In addition to solid defensive play at 1st base and Catcher; Erika’s bat has been stellar for the Mustangs. In the first game of the season, Erika hit for the cycle (single, double, triple, 2 homeruns!).
Maddie Warwick '14: Warwick played a pivotal role in the Varsity Lacrosse team's strong start to the season. Warwick scored 5 goals, snapped 2 draw controls, and 2 ground balls in the teams win over Dana Hall in the season opener. She also had a strong performance in a tie over Rivers; she had 2 goals and 1 assist, 2 ground balls, and dominated the draw with 4 controls.

Chandler Quintin '14: Chandler had a fantastic week for Varsity Basketball in their wins over Phillips Exeter (41-39) and Governor’s (33-31). Quintin capped off the week with 13 points in the win over Governor’s, including the jumper at the buzzer to win the game for the Mustangs.
Kevin Lee '14: Kevin is off to an outstanding start for Varsity Wrestling. Lee has pinned his opponent in each of his six matches thus far. The team moved to 6-0 this week with wins over St. Sebastian’s (42-31), Thayer (60-18), Hyde (57-24), Lawrence (47-36), and Tilton (72-6).

Sydney Park '14: Sydney had a fantastic week for the Varsity Soccer team. During both the games this week, she was a defensive stalwart for the squad. In addition to anchoring the defensive unit, Sydney brings tremendous energy to the team during both practices and games.
Justin Yoon '15: Justin had a record setting week for the Varsity Football team. On Saturday, in the game against Lawrence, Justin went 4/4 in field goal attempts. Justin hit 37, 42, 46 and 53 yard field goals to lead the team to victory. He also kicked every kick off deep into or out of the end zone to give the ‘Stangs prime field position.

Kate Blauer '15: Kate had a phenomenal week for JV Field Hockey. Kate played both forward and midfield for the Mustangs, dominating on both the offensive and defensive sides. Kate helped to lead the Mustangs to a 1-1 tie with Exeter. In addition to solid play throughout, Kate scored the only goal for the ‘Stangs.
Billy Murray '13: This fall, Billy has stepped in and has filled the goalie position for the varsity soccer team. This week, in his first career start in net, Billy held Tabor to a shutout. Billy has been a total team player, and will continue to be a leader on the field this fall.

Livvi Beaupre '15: Livvi had a great week for the JV Softball team, as she led the team both offensively and defensively. At the plate, Livvi went 6 for 9, hitting two home runs, one of which was a grand slam and she led the team with 10 RBIs. At shortstop, she made some great plays, including an unassisted double play.
Jake Hogan '14: Jake had a fantastic week for the Varsity Lacrosse team. On Saturday, in a 9-8 upset over ISL powerhouse and top 10 ranked Belmont Hill, Hogan had a phenomenal game in goal. In just his fifth game as a Varsity starter, Jake had 16 saves, including one at the buzzer, to lead his team to victory.

Jane Ghublikian '12: Jane has had a phenomenal year for the Varsity Softball team. This week, in her game against St. George’s, Ghublikian threw a no-hitter, with 9 strikeouts in 5 innings of play. At the plate, she had 4 RBIS, with a double and a home run.
Michael Davis '14: Michael had an outstanding week for the Varsity Baseball team. On Wednesday, against St. George’s, Davis had 3 hits, including a grand slam, and 7 RBIs. On Saturday, against Brooks, Davis got the win on the mound for the Mustangs, and helped out at the plate with a home run.

Varsity Golf: The Varsity Golf team spent their first week of the season doing community service at the Hoosic Golf Course. Hoosic Golf Committee Chair acknowledged the actions of the team in a letter to Mr. Reddicks saying “you are blessed to have such wonderful young men representing your school.”. This week, the team is being recognized for their outstanding performance off the course.

Allison Ward '13: Allison led the Varsity Basketball team to three wins this week. On Friday, against BB&N, Ward made 4 three-point shots. Against Tabor on Saturday, Allison hit 7 three's and had a season high 23 points to help lead the Mustangs to an important Class A victory.
Alec Brennan '14: Alec had an outstanding week for the Varsity Basketball team. In games against Brimmer & May and Brooks, Brennan combined for 24 points, 18 rebounds and 6 blocks to help lead the team to the two wins.

Sophie Hoffman '12: Sophie had a great week for the Varsity Squash team. On Wednesday, Sophie was one of two players to win in a 2-5 loss to St. Paul's. She beat her opponent by a decisive 3-0 score. Sophie has lost only one match thus far this season.
Elliott Vorel '13: Elliott had an outstanding week for the Varsity Hockey team. This week he had 2 goals and 3 assists in games against St. Paul's and Brooks, including the unassisted game winner in the third period against Brooks.
Jack Curtin '13: Jack has been off to a fantastic start for the Varsity Wrestling team. This week he had two wins against St. Mark's & Nobles. Jack stands at an impressive 9-1 on the season.

Jordan Quintin '13: Jordan had a great first week back from winter break. On Saturday, against St. Mark's, Jordan scored 12 first half points to single-handedly outscore her opponent. Jordan has been a leader on the court for the Girls' Varsity Basketball team this season.
Will McBrian '13: McBrian had a fantastic week for Boys' Varsity squash. Will won two matches this week against Middlesex and Deerfield at the number 1 position. The highlight of the two matches was a hard fought 5 game match against Deerfield.

Kate Couturier '12: Kate had a phenomenal week for the Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey team. In goal for the Mustangs, Kate kept her team in both games v. Exeter and Brooks. In both games, Kate stopped numerous breakaways and odd man rushes to keep the win within reach for the 'stangs. Kate finished with 29 saves against Exeter, and 42 saves against Brooks. Kate has been a leader both on and off the ice, her intensity and focus in goal gives her team confidence in the defensive zone.
Josh Ellis '13: Josh has had a fantastic start to the season for Boys' Varsity Swimming and Diving. At the
Deerfield
meet, Josh set a new school record for six dives, placing second to the reigning New England Champion. In the meet, Josh also anchored the medley relay with a team best 23.5 for the 50 yard freestyle leg. At the Kingswood Oxford Invitational, Josh won the diving competition.

Michaela Brickley '15: Michaela worked hard the entire season at the goaltending position on the Varsity Girls’ Soccer team. This past Saturday, in the game v. rival Nobles, Michaela saw her first varsity action of the season. Replacing the injured Jessica Li, Michaela entered the game and had to immediately face a penalty kick from Nobles’ top player. With the game tied, and less than 15 minutes remaining, Michaela faced this moment head on and made a phenomenal save to preserve the 1-1 finish.
Eric Nesto '12: Nesto had a fantastic final week for the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team. On Wednesday, Eric scored a goal in the Mustang’s historic win over Brooks. On Saturday, he had an incredible game against Nobles, showing tremendous leadership and assisting on a spectacular goal. Nesto has had a fantastic four year soccer career for the Mustangs.

Nicole Baker-Greene ’12:This season Nicole has been a leader on the court for the Varsity Volleyball team. In the final week of games, Nicole was an exemplar player and was the team’s backbone in their games against Beaver Country Day and Governor’s. As a captain this season, Nicole has been a constant motivation for her teammates, and a true definition of selfless play.
Ty Billman '13: Ty has led the Boys’ JV Soccer team this season. Playing at the striker position, Ty led the team with the most goals scored. This past week in games against St. George’s and Governor’s, Ty led the Mustangs with his speed and overall play. Week after week Ty has shown that he is a great leader on and off the pitch.
