Junior goaltender Drew Hottte (Gwynned, PA) has been the backbone of the team for the last two seasons. In his sophomore year he led the Mustangs to a home seed in the New England Tournament. Recently he was named the Milton Athlete of the Week when he went 3 - 0 while allowing a stingy 0.8 goals against in the three games.
The Milton Boy's Hockey team gathered following a pre-game skate prior to the Tabor New Year's Tournament. Milton won its first two games allowing them to advance to the championship game. They came up short in their repeat quest as they fell to the hosts 5-1 in the final. Milton has won the tournament four of the last six years.

Boy's Hockey finished a successful 2012-13 season with an overall record of 14-10 -3 and ranked 12th in New England. The team qualified for the New England Prep Tournament for the third time in four years while ultimately losing a quarterfinal match-up to rival Exeter. The team also finished second in the ISL Keller Division, won the Tabor New Year's Tournament for the fourth time in five years and received the ISL Team Sportsmanship Award for the third time in the last four years. Other highlights of the season included beating Belmont Hill on two separate occasions while they were ranked number one in New England and sweeping the season series from our archrival Nobles.
Graduating seniors Sam Barrett-Cotter (Milton, MA), Jonah Dwyer (Kilbride, ONT), Jake Farabee (Cicero, NY), Andreas Graham (Kinnelon, NJ), Jimmy Haddad (Milton, MA), Cole Morrissette (Bristol, RI), Anthony Sabitsky (Sicklerville, NJ), Matt Sullivan (Brunswick, ME) and Elliott Vorel (Boonton, NJ) will be missed.
Class of 2013
On Sunday afternoon Milton hockey returned to its roots by playing a Pond Hockey Tournament on campus. Junior Clay Berger (Fort Lauderdale, FL) wearing an Alabama sweatshirt and hailing from the Sunshine State scored the winner in the championship game to propel the red team to the Brad Richardson Cup. Milton returns to prep action indoors this week with key games at home against St. Sebastians and on the road Saturday at Exeter.
The Mustangs competed in the Tabor Tournament without the services of one of their top defensemen. Junior Alex Mann (Lunenburg, Nova Scotia) was outside Montreal wearing the Team Canada colors competing in the World U17 Tournament representing Canada's Atlantic District. New Years' Hockey Tournament Champions!
Milton's varsity hockey squad claimed their fourth Tabor New Year's Championship in five years at the annual tournament hosted by Tabor on January 1 and 2. The Mustangs clinched a spot in Wednesday's finals following first and second round ties in OT against Winchendon and Stanstead on New Year's Day. The team took home the top trophy by defeating Tabor 6-1 in the final game.
"Senior forwards, Anthony Sabitsky (Sicklerville, NJ), Jake Farabee (Cicero, NY), Elliott Vorel (Boonton, NJ) and Cole Morrissette (Bristol, RI), were highly productive over the two-day tournament," says head coach, Paul Cannata. "Sabitsky led the way with four points in the championship game."
Sophomore Drew Hotte (Lower Gwynedd, PA) guarded the net in all three games and turned back 23 Tabor shots in the final round.
The Mustangs move to 6-3-3 on the season and take on Lawrence this Saturday in an away bout beginning at 3 p.m.
The 2011-12 Team Awards were recently announced at the break-up dinner held on campus at the Straus Library. Senior Teo Camadella (Ithaca, NY) was voted the recipient of the Tim Taylor Milton Hockey Award. Senior forward Jonathon Franco (Lynnfield, MA) received the Neil Hernberg Seventh Player Award and senior defenseman Rob O'Gara (Nesconset, NY) was voted the Marty McInnis Most Valuable Player. Earlier this spring O'Gara was also named All-New England and the USHR.com New England Defenseman of the Year.
2011 New England Champions!
Boys' hockey enjoyed a dream season this past winter with an overall record of 26-3-1. Among their many accomplishments, the Mustangs beat Nobles four times during the year, finished the season on a 15-0-1 run, won the Tabor New Year's Tournament for the third straight year, claimed the ISL Keller Division title for the first time since 1967, and captured the New England Boys' Hockey Championship for the first time ever.
Senior defenseman Pat McNally was named the HNIB New England Prep Player of the Year, Head Coach Paul Cannata was named HNIB Coach of the Year for Prep Hockey, and the team was named the HNIB Team of the Year at their annual awards luncheon. Senior goaltender Sean Dougherty and Pat McNally were named the Marty McInnis Team MVP's for the second year in a row. Senior defenseman Jake Turrin was elected as the Tim Taylor Milton Hockey Award winner and TJ Schneder and Tyler Edwards were elected as the Neil Hernberg Seventh Player Award winners.
Yale-bound junior Rob O'Gara has been named team captain for the 2011–2012 season.

The Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins, the 2011 Stanley Cup finalists, have each dipped into the Milton talent pool over the past two springs. The Canucks selected Milton defenseman Pat McNally (Glen Head, NY) - pictured on the left - in the fourth round of the 2010 NHL Draft. This past spring. the Stanley Cup Champion Bruins looked to the New England Champion Milton Mustangs when they selected rising captain Rob O'Gara (Nesconset, NY) - pictured on the right - with their fifth pick.
