How to Apply to the Middle School
Milton Academy welcomes applications for Grade 6 through Grade 8. Our planned entry points for the Middle School are Grade 6 and Grade 7, but spaces in Grade 8 may become available. To begin your conversation with Milton Academy, complete and submit the Request Information form to add your name to our mailing list. Admission Packets are sent electronically to the email provided.
To begin, families will be directed to create an online account to manage all aspects of the application process:

- Download PDFs
- Track the status of an application
While we encourage families to begin the application process before the deadline, completed applications are due by January 15.
Grade 6–8 Application Process
Please submit the online application forms as soon as possible, but no later than January 15. Upon receipt, we will create a personal file for your child, and assign him or her a group visit.

A non-refundable application fee of $50 for domestic applicants and $100 USD for international applicants must be submitted online, along with your application, using Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Fee waivers are available if the fee represents a financial hardship for your family. Please contact the K-8 Office of Admission for details.
Download, sign and distribute the Record Release Form to your child’s school administrator. Final or mid-semester grades for the current fall term and a transcript with grades for the past year.

Applicants for Grades 6–8 are required to submit results of either the lower level of the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT), or the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Applicants should register for and take one of these tests by January 15, and scores should be sent directly to Milton Academy. The SSAT school code for Milton Academy is 5098 and the ISEE school code for Milton Academy is 221430. For applicants for whom English is not their first language, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is strongly recommended. The TOEFL school code for Milton Academy is 8125. The TOEFL does not take the place of the SSAT or ISEE.
Tour and Interview
If you have not already scheduled a campus tour and interview, please do so by contacting the K-8 Office of Admission at 617-898-2509 as soon as possible. All interviews and tours must be completed by January 15.
All applicants for Grade 6 and Grade 7 will be scheduled for a group visit. The visit is assigned upon receipt of Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the application. The group visit is an essential part of the admission process. It provides an opportunity for the applicant to visit Milton and for us to observe the applicant in a classroom setting.
Milton Academy maintains a financial aid budget of $9.9 million. All aid is need-based, and Milton strives to meet 100 percent of the demonstrated need of each accepted student. Awards are reviewed annually, and returning students must reapply for aid each year. To be eligible for financial assistance, parents must submit the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) by January 31 to School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS), www.sss.nais.org. The school code for Milton Academy is 5098. In addition, the 2014 Federal Tax Forms should be sent to the SSS by January 31, 2017.
