Milton alumnae Emily Bruskin 98 and Julia Bruskin 98,
first prize winners of the 2001 young concert artists international
auditions, will perform at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum on
Sunday, September 29.
The Gardner Museum's Sunday Concert Series presents classical chamber
music performed by prestigious artists. The trio will perform Beethoven's,
"Trio in E Flat, Op. 1#1," Mason Bates' "String Band"
and Ravel's "Trio."
Emily and Julia perform at the Gardner as members of The Claremont
Trio. Emily, a violinist, and Julia, a cellist, formed The Claremont
Trio with Donna Kwong, a pianist, in 1999, at the Taos School of
Music.
During the summer of 2002, The Claremont Trio traveled to Slovenia
and Croatia as part of a cultural exchange co-sponsored by the U.S.
State Department and Carnegie Hall. The Trios 2002-2003 season
includes concerts at Carnegies Weill Recital Hall as part
of the Alexander Schneider Chamber Music Series, the UCLA Center
for the Performing Arts, the Albany (GA) Concert Association and
the Cincinnati Chamber Music Society, performances in Scarborough,
NY, Ocala, FL, Livingston, NJ, Half Moon Bay, CA, and New Canaan,
CT.
