In preparation for their concert tour in Italy, the Milton Academy Chamber Orchestra and the Milton Academy Chamber Singers performed a pre-tour concert in King Theatre on Thursday, March 9.

On March 11, over 80 students will travel to Italy to begin the concert tour. The first stop on the tour is Sorrento, where the groups will perform a concert at the Teatro Tasso on Monday, March 13. Following the concert, the group will tour the ruins of nearby Pompeii. The second stop on the concert tour is Rome. Students will visit the Vatican museums and other historical and artistic venues before the chamber singers perform at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels on March 15. After Rome, the groups journey north to stay in Montacatini in the heart of Tuscany. From there, the groups will fan out for two more performances and, of course, some more sightseeing in Florence, Pisa and Venice. On Friday, March 17, the orchestra will perform a concert at the Church of Sant' Agostino in San Gimignano. Before flying home, both groups will perform a final concert outside of Florence at the Casa di Populo Imprunenta on Sunday, March 19.
