Acknowledging the juggling act:
orientation helps teens succeed

Milton faculty – specialists in helping adolescents – know well the challenges students face at a new place and at this new time in their lives.

For some time, faculty at Milton predicted that new students would really benefit from a special program that anticipated the issues students deal with, and helped them respond in healthy, productive ways. At the same time they wished that students had more time devoted to getting to know one another in a relaxed, fun setting.

Last year’s launch of Milton’s New Student Program did just that. The program brought students and adults together on campus and in Boston to treat issues that really matter in their lives, and to make friends.

This year new students will experience a slightly modified version of the original program. The New Student Program will span three fall weekends, September 6, 20 and October 18. Each new student in Classes III–IV will attend a Saturday session.

The new student orientation program will cover diversity, relationships and risk-taking, all while experiencing the fun of life at Milton Academy.
