Join in the Fun of Milton Mix-Up 2005
Want to meet fellow parents at Milton in
a smaller, more intimate setting? Then be sure to put the
Milton Mix-Up social on your calendar. This annual event,
which brings parents together at casual dinner parties throughout
the greater Boston area, will take place on Saturday evening
February 5th.
The Mix-Up committee is currently soliciting
parents who would enjoy hosting one of the dinner parties
in their home. If you can accommodate a group of between eight
and 20 guests that evening, please contact Charlie Wagner
(charliewagner@comcast.net),
preferably before the upcoming holiday break.
Each host can decide how many guests to accommodate
and the format for their own party. While most people choose
to offer a pot-luck dinner, others prefer to self-style their
party. The Mix-Up committee does the work of sending invitations,
handling RSVPs and matching guests and hosts.
Whether or not you would like to a host a
dinner, please save the date for this unique opportunity to
meet the parents of your children’s schoolmates. Milton
is a vibrant community and discussion at Mix-Up parties is
guaranteed to be lively. You might well meet someone who’s
lived on a kibbutz, or run a food bank, or knows how to make
a mean soufflé, or has just visited the very corner
of the world you’d like to explore.
Invitations will be sent out in January.
Everyone who wishes to attend will receive the name and address
of their hosts by the end of January.
Here are some comments received by last year’s
participants:
"As a boarding parent, the chance
to connect with other Milton families is
really invaluable. Many thanks for making it possible."
"Graduation in June will be better
for all of us now that we have a few
more familiar faces with whom we can share the experience."
The Mix-Up dinner is scheduled to coincide
with the weekend when many Class II parents are on campus
to learn more about the college application process. We hope
you can join us on Saturday night in these informal settings.
You’ll be glad you did.
