Tsunami Fundraiser

Parents and students, join us at the gala on May 7 planned for your entertainment and fun by the student Tsunami Relief Coalition. In addition to the powerful draw of Milton’s own jazz, instrumental, and vocal groups that will perform that night, perhaps a chance at the silent auction items will entice you to come. The Web home page story notes the Red Sox tickets and handmade jewelry by Sophia Kortchmar and Nancy Serventi. The Coalition has also gathered a Coffee Lover’s basket that includes products from fine restaurants and coffee houses throughout the Milton area; a watercolor painting by Milton Academy faculty member Jim Ryan; and gift certificates to great businesses in and around Milton — for instance a $50 gift certificate to Video to Go. Also featured in the evening’s auction will be a Weekend Away to Carrabassett Valley, Maine: a long summer weekend in a three bedroom condominium with access to the activities in Maine’s Sugarloaf Mountain area.

The Tsunami Relief Coalition at Milton: back row, left to right: Alison Brace, Jessica Heitman, Rachel Bechek, Alexandra Desaulniers, Rachel Konowitz, Susannah Burrage, JungMin Lee, Olivia Greene, Rachel Nagy; front row, left to right: Zachary Schwab, Lara Yeo, Ali Martin, Alicia Driscoll.

Proceeds will go to the tsunami victims through Habitat for Humanity International.

Admission to the event is $20 for adults and $10 for students and can be paid via check (made out to Milton Academy) sent to the Community Service Office; 170 Centre Street Milton, MA 02186. Students may also charge Individual Accounts at lunches in the coming weeks. The Coalition asks that you RSVP to Alexandra Desaulniers at alexandra_desaulniers@milton.edu. Hope to see you there!
