Meet Milton Academy's New CIO

This summer, Milton Academy welcomed Jane Sulkin as the new chief information officer within the ATS department. Jane brings to Milton a wealth of Information Technology experience. Over the past nine years, Jane has served as a member of the Information Technology Services department at Harvard Law School. During the last five years of her time at Harvard, she led the department as its director, managing a staff of 28 IT professionals and supporting the technology needs of a community consisting of 120 faculty, 550 staff, and 1,900 students. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Technology in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Jane first joined the world of computer technology in 1986 as manager of desktop solutions for Stratus Computer, Inc. located in Marlboro, Massachusetts. In 1995, she pursued a career at Harvard in hopes of using her knowledge to support the advancement of technology within an educational institution. Although her experience at Harvard was both rewarding and challenging, Jane found many reasons to join the Milton community. “Moving from a collegiate setting to one ranging from kindergarten to high school offers me a new and interesting adventure,” stated Sulkin. “I was attracted to Milton because I am a prep school grad myself. I graduated from Cushing Academy and it was one of the best and most significant academic experiences of my life.”

Jane’s first goal as CIO is to examine what technology Milton Academy is currently using and how that technology functions within the Academy’s infrastructure. With that knowledge, Jane hopes to find new ways to greatly enhance the technology and support offered to the students, faculty and administration of the School.
