MILTON ANIMAL SHELTER
Just down the road, the Town of Milton runs its own Animal Shelter. They have a policy of NO euthanizing. Volunteers are needed at all times of day and weekend, but we usually can best provide transportation afterschool. Walking takes 20 minutes. Help is needed to clean cat and dog cages, feeding, giving individual attention to cats and walking the dogs.

PERFORMANCES for elders and CURRENT EVENTS
This is an opportunity to bring great joy to residents of nursing homes or elderly communities. We are looking for musicians, singers, dancers and speech team members of all genres to perform on a regular or occasional basis. These are informal recitals which we arrange for particular dates after school.

The Fuller Village site of Milton Residences for the Elderly also needs 1-2 volunteers (often speech/debate team members) to commit to running a weekly Current Issues discussion group after school.

Occasional special projects run by ArtStreet, Inc., ie. Sidewalk Sam, are directed at community revival via city beautification. Students help paint murals onto walls and sidewalks in downtown Boston. During cooler months they may work indoors with Sidewalk Sam (Bob Guillemin) and his wife Tina on craft projects which are sold to raise funds for local charities. This is a fantastic opportunity for student artists (or anyone!) to be creative, while impacting the community and getting to know an inspiring man who is an accomplished artist, philosopher, and friend of Milton Academy.
