During the OMCD’s all-school assembly, we introduced our adaptation of “The Race Card Project,” a project that asks people to identify who they are in 6 words. Our version asked students to identify themselves in 7 words —not necessarily by race but by any identities that they feel define who they are and/or their experiences. Here are 7 of the most compelling answers we received:

  1. “Trying to understand the world around me”
  2. “I am: Musical, Curious, Creative, Woman, Driven”
  3. “I do not appear as I am.”
  4. “A straight, white, cisgendered woman; an ally”
  5. “Chinese international advocate student athlete”
  6. “Happy, privileged boy with perspective and guilt.”
  7. “Seven words cannot define my identity.”
