13-11_george_nickOne of today’s most respected contemporary realist painters, George Nick, shares his work at the Nesto Gallery exhibit that opened on Friday, November 8. A Lifetime of Self-Portraits includes 100 paintings and drawings—self-portraits organized in strict chronological order, from 1950 to the present, balanced with paintings of his wife and daughter.

George Nick studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art School, and Art Students League in New York. After earning a B.F.A. and M.F.A. from Yale University in the early 1960’s, George spent over 30 years teaching at the Massachusetts College of Art. His work can be found in collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York; the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston; the Hirschhorn Museum; and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

A Lifetime of Self-Portraits will run in the Nesto Gallery through December 13. This exhibit is free and open to public.
