Lauren Cunningham

Associate Director of College Counseling

Lauren is excited to be a part of the Milton Academy College Counseling team! She initially joined the Milton Academy CCO in fall 2023 as a college counselor offering application and essay support and stepped into an interim role in January of 2024. She officially joined the team later that spring as an Associate Director of College Counseling and has quickly become an invaluable resource for her students and member of the CCO team.

Before arriving at Milton, Lauren spent six years in highly selective admissions at Lehigh University as an Assistant Director of Admissions. During her time at Lehigh, she reviewed thousands of applications as an integral member of the admissions committee and the regional counselor for one of the largest recruitment territories within the Lehigh admissions office. Additionally, she was a member of the admissions visit team where she supervised over 100 volunteer tour guides and a cohort of senior admissions interviewers. In addition to those responsibilities, Lauren was the liaison to the Music and Theatre departments where she oversaw the selection and admission for Lehigh’s performing arts merit scholarships.

As a college counselor, Lauren is a firm believer in the importance of fit throughout the college search. She offers individualized support with her knowledge and enthusiasm of the college admissions process, and she encourages each of her students to aspire to achieve their goals.

Lauren hails from Eagles country in eastern Pennsylvania and is a proud alumna of Lehigh University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Theatre and her Masters of Education. She loves travel, Broadway, easy reads, and is always a welcome recipient of a new restaurant suggestion! She currently resides in Wolcott House with her husband Matt.
