Lauren Kudisch
Senior Associate Director of College Counseling
Lauren joins the Milton Academy College Counseling team after spending more than a decade working in college admissions. She started her time in admissions at Boston University—reviewing applications, recruiting students, and leading events and programs for prospective and admitted students. After six years of learning at BU, she moved on to Wellesley College where she remained for the last five years, ultimately serving as a Senior Associate Director of Admission. In this role, she oversaw all campus visit initiatives, led the application reading and selection process, and managed the alumnae admission volunteer efforts. Returning to a small liberal arts college, with a strong student-centered mission, felt similar to that of her own alma mater. Throughout her time at Wellesley, she served as the sole recruiter and primary reviewer of applicants from Massachusetts, including those students from Milton Academy. During this time reviewing applicants from Milton, she gained a deep appreciation for Milton’s dedication to its students, and its commitment to academic curiosity and community engagement.
Navigating the admission landscape amidst the Covid pandemic, test-optional policies, an end to race-conscious admission per the Supreme Court decision in 2023, has provided her an unparalleled perspective within this field. These experiences brought her to the college counseling side in hopes to provide more transparency to students and families and to empower applicants navigating this process in unprecedented times. With these experiences in hand, she hopes to offer students a better understanding of how applications are evaluated and how critical it is to present one’s best and most authentic self in this process.
Lauren is a proud graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she studied History and Education. She also completed her M.Ed. in Educational Policy, Planning and Administration at Boston University. A resident of the town of Milton for the last seven years, she and her two children, spouse, and pup can be seen taking walks around Turner’s Pond, enjoying a pizza at Steel and Rye, and finishing off a large cone from the Ice CreamSmith.
