Designed to foster collaboration and exploration, the Farokhzad Mathematics Center (opened in 2024) is Milton’s dynamic home for mathematics.

Our Math Courses: From Foundations to Frontiers

Our curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire every student. Beginning with courses like Proof and Problem Solving and Algebraic Concepts, students build a strong base in reasoning and technique. As they progress, they have opportunities to explore advanced electives not often found in secondary education, including Advanced Functions, Linear & Abstract Algebra, Advanced Statistical Methods, Advanced Topics: Probability, and Advanced Topics: Differential Forms and Calculus on Manifolds.

Milton’s math faculty are lifelong learners themselves. They are passionate about both mathematics as a discipline and teaching as a craft, and recognize that excellent instruction doesn’t look just one way. Whether leading with direct instruction or guiding through open-ended inquiry, our faculty adapt their teaching styles to meet the needs of their students, balancing inductive and deductive reasoning, theory and application, rigor and creativity.
