The Maru A Pula (MAP) Marimba Band, a 10-piece group from Botswana, will visit the Milton campus on Wednesday, May 8. The group will perform during second period assembly in Pieh Commons and present an evening workshop in the Orchestra Room. The MAP Marimba Band is an outgrowth of the Maru A Pula school in Gabarone, Botswana, and has toured Canada, the United States, Brazil and southern Africa. The group’s leader, Alport Mahlanga, is largely responsible for the revival of the traditional African Marimba in Zimbabwe and Botswana.
