Milton’s Host Family Program helps new boarding students transition to campus life by providing a “home away from home,” and offering additional connection and support. While the program is particularly helpful to international students, it also serves students coming to Milton from other parts of the United States. Milton’s host families, often the family of a day student or nearby boarding student, help make that transition, especially in the initial years, easier. We also welcome alumni and the parents of former students as host families. The support our host families provide may be as simple as a plate of cookies or an invitation to spend a holiday or weekend with the family off campus. The program is flexible, based on a student’s need and what a particular family is able to provide. The program is a wonderful opportunity to share in the diverse community of the School, and your involvement can help establish new and enriching relationships.
If you would like to host students or if you are the parent of a boarding student and are interested in connecting your child with a local host family, please contact Tasha Otenti at email@example.com or 617-898-2426. Families interested in becoming host families will be subject to background checks, per School policy.
