Athletic and Convocation Center (ACC)

A vibrant garden with blooming pink flowers in the foreground, surrounded by lush greenery and a brick building with glass windows in the background.

Opened in 1998, Milton’s Athletic and Convocation Center is a hub for athletics and community gatherings.

Located within the ACC, the Fitzgibbons Convocation Center, named in honor of the Fitzgibbons family for their long-standing philanthropic support of Milton Academy, features three basketball and volleyball courts, and an indoor track. It also serves as a central gathering space for the entire Milton community, including all-school events such as Convocation, Prize Assembly, and the rain location for Graduation.

The north field house, part of the ACC, includes the Roberts Ice Rink, which converts into tennis courts or an indoor practice space for field sports during the off-season. The second floor is home to the Esther and Herbert G. Stokinger ’24 Fitness Center, coaches’ offices, and training rooms.

The ACC is also home to the office of the athletic director and other offices supporting Milton’s athletic programs. Jim Fitzgibbons ’52 P’87, ’90 ’93, Trustee Emeritus, played a key role in the center’s creation, and his son, John B. Fitzgibbons ’87, has served as a Milton Trustee from 2007 to 2019 and again from 2020 to the present.
