The Farokhzad Mathematics Center (FMC), Milton’s newest academic building, is a cutting-edge facility dedicated to the study of math, enhancing teaching and learning, creating a strong community of inquiry and exploration, and providing spaces for students and teachers to dive deeper into math at all levels.
The FMC is an airy, bright, and inviting building with classrooms across three levels. Plenty of breakout spaces and open study areas provide room for quiet focus and group work. The building’s design fosters connection and collaboration—the heart of math at Milton Academy—with flexible desk arrangements in each classroom, white-board tables for group work, and informal gathering areas. This interactive environment allows teachers to give feedback in the moment, helping students work through challenges and deepen their understanding.

On the first floor, the Hobbs Commons serves as a large assembly space for campus, providing a state-of-the-art setting for guest speakers, meetings, events, and competitions. The lively M-Cubed, a Middle School math contest designed by the Upper School Math Team, takes place several times a year, creating fun, meaningful connections between students of different grades, a love for math, and a curiosity to explore challenging problems.
