Schwarz Student Center

An open and airy space connecting Warren and Wigglesworth Halls, the Schwarz Student Center is the heart of daily student life for the Upper School.

The center buzzes with activity and fun from morning to evening, offering comfortable common areas for students to gather outside of class.

The building, a gift of the late Trustee and alumnus H. Marshall Schwarz ’54 and his family, serves several functions for the Upper School, housing the Office of Student Life, the Outdoor Program, the office of Community Engagement Programs and Partnerships, and the Student Activities Office. On weekends throughout the school year, the building hosts a rich slate of activities, from dances to craft projects and much more.

With history and social science classrooms on the upper levels, the building’s modern glass construction offers views into every facet of Milton life. A large sculpture, “The Edge of One of Many Circles” by Sarah Sze ’87, 2003 MacArthur Fellow, is a permanent installation (supported by Lisa and Richard Perry ’73 as a gift to the school) visible from multiple levels of the Student Center.
