To celebrate Black History Month, Upper School students had the opportunity to participate in four enriching sessions honoring Black excellence and joy. They could engage in a Poets’ Corner with January Gill O’Neil and Nathan McClain, experience the vibrant rhythms of African drumming and dance with Malian musician Joh Camara and his award-winning Troupe Sewa, explore careers in science and technology through a STEM panel featuring Rachel Atkinson (surgery fellow, Brigham and Women’s Hospital), Compton Bowman (distribution design engineer / AI robotic technician), Caleb Levy (Ph.D. candidate in physics, Harvard University), and Castella Edward (nurse and clinical faculty member at New England Baptist), or join a fireside chat with Jeff Chandler and Reginald L. Jackson, African American master artists-in-residence at the Institute of Contemporary Art. It was a powerful celebration of creativity, culture, and achievement.
