Milton Academy is seeking applicants for the position of Interim Director of Nursing for the remainder of the 2024-25 academic year from January to June 2025. This key leadership role oversees and ensures high-quality medical care for students in grades K–12 and manages the school’s 24/7 Health Center.
The Interim Director of Nursing manages a team of 13 nurses (full-time, part-time, and per diem) and provides both routine medical care and emergency services. For boarding students, the Director facilitates care from external providers at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Working closely with school leadership, the Director of Counseling, and external medical consultants, the Director of Nursing shapes and implements student health policies, including those related to medication administration, communicable disease prevention, and general health practices. The role also involves organizing and coordinating annual faculty and staff training in CPR, First Aid, and AED use.
The Director of Nursing collaborates with athletic trainers to provide care and support for student-athletes and manages all administrative aspects of student health, such as handling medical records and ensuring appropriate communication of relevant health information.
