As part of the 2025 DEIJ Speaker Series, Black-ish writer and producer Robb Chavis ’94 returned to campus to encourage students to share their stories—especially the ones they tell about themselves. Chavis, a former attorney turned Emmy-nominated TV writer, spoke about the power of persistence, creativity, and collaboration in the writers’ room. He emphasized that storytelling can shift perspectives and that every voice is unique and worth sharing. “Don’t let history write your story for you,” he urged.
