Letter from the President of the Board and the Head of School
Thanks to your support, Milton Academy is a vibrant center of teaching and learning. Your generosity connects talented students—from across the country and around the world—who inspire one another, in classrooms, on playing fields, on stages and in house common rooms. Your gift expresses appreciation for devoted faculty and enables them to develop their craft in a vigorous teaching environment.
You helped Milton exceed our goal, raising $4.39 million in 2014–2015—dollars that give Milton’s leaders the capacity to respond to pressing needs and promising initiatives, in real-time. Your financial commitment, each year, supports approximately eight percent of the cost of a Milton education—bridging the gap between tuition revenues and actual expenses. Last year, alumni contributed over $2 million, and the number of graduates giving to the School increased by more than 300. Seventy-six percent of parents gave to Milton, an amount totaling nearly $2 million. The graduating Class of 2015 expressed its gratitude as well; 90 percent of the class made a financial gift.
This generosity supports the day-to-day life at Milton—lighting up classroom discussions, stoking competitions on the fields, building stage sets, warming house dining rooms, powering technology across campus, and engendering relationships that enliven the learning. Each year, you help provide opportunities that enrich and challenge, preparing young people to question, create, problem-solve, and lead lives that “dare to be true.”
For your important role in preserving today’s Milton, for affirming our long-held values, and for helping us move purposefully toward our School’s future of educational leadership, we thank you.
