Summary of Position:  

Milton Academy seeks teachers for The Saturday Course, an enrichment program for public school children in Grades 4-8 with strong academic skills. Independently motivated students can learn compelling material in a fun and exciting environment. Founded in 1978, The Saturday Course has been an integral part of the Academy’s commitment to public/private partnerships. Ideal candidates will have experience in teaching subjects in which they are passionate. 

Please review our Sample Course List as an example of the types of classes we have offered. Some specific subject areas that we are seeking at this time include but are not limited to: animals (zoology), archaeology, astronomy, aviation, creative writing, journalism, sports science, speech and debate. We encourage applicants to provide a cover letter with details about the course(s) you’d be interested in teaching. 

Hours for this position are 7:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays during program dates. There are five sessions during the academic year – each session consists of five Saturdays. Candidates are not required to commit to teaching all sessions. 

Stipend:  $1,440 stipend per session (5 Saturdays, 40 hours’ total or 8 hours a day from approximately 7am to 3pm).
