This is a seasonal position beginning in late May and ending in early August. The Activity specialist will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate programming each day. The activity specialist will have experience leading children in various activities, preferably as a classroom teacher or summer camp leader. The activity specialist is enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative, and flexible.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Activity Specialists are responsible for initiating and implementing a program within a particular program area. These program areas could include but are not limited to: sports and games, arts and crafts, gardening, acting, nature/wildlife studies, technology, robotics, performing arts, archery, etc.
  • Will work in tandem with counselors to provide meaningful, enriching programming for campers.
  • Provide regular feedback to counselors to ensure professional improvement and growth.
  • Communicate regularly with Camp Director in regard to supply and support needs, scheduling, and any camper issues.
  • Responsible for keeping their workspaces clean and ready for each class period.
  • Use weekly supply budget to maximize programming.
  • Be willing to assist with any additional camp needs.
  • Be present for weekly staff meetings.
