13-12_concertA long-standing tradition this time each year, Milton’s winter concerts are a welcome gift on these cold, short December days.

The Winter Vocal Concert featured the Gospel Choir, Chamber Singers, and the Glee Club. Highlights included The Best is Yet to Come by Donald Lawrence, sung by the Gospel Choir, and Now is the Month of Maying by Thomas Morley and Ubi caritas by Ola Gjeilo, both sung by the Chamber Singers. The Glee Club performed several selections, including Mozart’sMissa Brevis in G Major K49. Watch video of the performance.

Milton’s two orchestras took the stage for the Winter Orchestra Concert. The Chamber Orchestra performed works of Halvorsen, Mozart, Beethoven, and a premiere of Wandering Woes by student Will Hawkins (II). Soloists included Sydney Adedamola (I), Andrew Byun (III) and Margaret Miller-Bartley (I). The full orchestra played works of Bernstein, Bach, Dvorak and Anderson. Watch video of the concert.
