How to Apply to the Lower School
Milton Academy welcomes applications for Kindergarten through Grade 5. Our planned entry points for the Lower School are Kindergarten and Grade 4, but spaces in other grades occasionally become available.
To begin your conversation with Milton Academy, complete and submit the Request Information form to be added to our database. Admission information is sent electronically to the email provided.
Schedule an Appointment
A parent/guardian interview is typically required for all admission candidates applying to one of our planned entry points (Kindergarten and Grade 4) and must be completed by January 15.
At this time we are fully booked for interview appointments. If you would like to be added to our interview waitlist, please complete this form. We will contact you immediately should an interview appointment become available. In order to be added to the waitlist, you must be in our system—so, if you have not filled out our request for information, please do so here.
Please rest assured that all completed applications will be reviewed. The Admission Office will follow up as needed.
Explore Milton any time by taking a virtual tour of our campus.
We look forward to getting to know your family!
Create an Account
To begin, please create an online account to manage all aspects of the application process here. In this online account, families can:
- Access Milton’s application
- Initiate requests for recommendations
- Download PDFs
- Track the status of an application
- View decision letter on March 10
While we encourage families to begin the application process before the deadline, completed applications are due by January 15.
A non-refundable application fee of $65 for domestic applicants and $125 USD for international applicants must be submitted online, along with your application, using Visa, Mastercard or Discover. Fee waivers are available if the fee represents a financial hardship for your family. Please contact the Lower and Middle School Admission Office for details.
Download the Record Release Form from your online application portal, sign and distribute it to your child’s school administrator to authorize the release of academic records from the current and past year. Please have the administrator email all transcripts to email@example.com
Teacher Recommendation: Submitted online (preferred method)
Submit the recommendation request to your child’s current classroom teacher through the online application system. Recommendation forms are available to download if necessary. Additionally, there is an optional, supplemental recommendation form that can be filled out by a former teacher, coach, tutor, instructor, etc.
Kindergarten Individual Assessment (Kindergarten applicants only)
Once your child’s application is submitted, we will contact you to schedule an individual assessment appointment.
Group Visits (Kindergarten and Grade 4 only)
All applicants for Kindergarten and Grade 4 will be scheduled for a Group Visit. This visit is assigned upon receipt of the online application. The Group Visit is an essential part of the admission process. It provides an opportunity for the prospective students to learn more about Milton, and for our admission officers to get to know each applicant.
Please note that this visit can be waived for applicants who are applying from out of state or internationally.

Deposit and Contract Deadline
During the first phase of the selection process, admission officers read each application in a “need-blind” review that does not consider a candidate’s ability to pay as a factor in their evaluations. However, the final phase of the selection process is “need-aware,” as the admission committee weighs its decisions against available financial aid funds. Milton Academy strives to meet 100 percent of the demonstrated need of each candidate offered admission. Please see the Financial Aid portion of our website for more information.
