On January 2, 2019, a Norfolk County Superior Court judge announced that criminal charges against Rey Buono had been dismissed on the grounds that the charges were barred by the statute of limitations. On Friday, January 11, the Norfolk County District Attorney filed a series of motions, including an appeal and a motion for reconsideration, regarding this dismissal. Buono currently remains under house arrest, and a hearing on the pending motions is scheduled for January 28, 2019.
