Our Priorities

In these extraordinary times, your investment in Milton Academy sustains us.

Our funding priorities include:

The Milton Fund

By providing current-use operating revenue, the Milton Fund increases the school’s ability to seize new opportunities and address emerging needs. Gifts are used in the year they’re given, making an impact on the lives of today’s students.

Endowment

Endowments are what keep institutions strong for generations. Our annual spending rate, based on a 12-quarter rolling average formula, ensures endowment dollars support the operating budget while the principal is reinvested for the future. Milton’s endowment was valued at $408 million as of June 30, 2021. Our current 4.45% spending rate means the endowment will provide nearly $14 million in operating budget funds, fueling our mission.

Facilities

Campus improvements are designed to match the caliber of our academic programs and meet the needs of modern teaching and learning. In a staged renovation, Milton relocated the William C. Cox Library to Wigglesworth Hall, making room for the Farokhzad Math Center in the former library building. Milton’s renovation plans are designed with an understanding of how students and teachers learn, live, work, and play. They make the most of our finite space, and a fiscally responsible, staged approach delivers improvements each year. Learn more.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ)

Milton’s core values include providing an environment where all students and adults feel welcome, safe, and able to express their identities. DEIJ funding supports ongoing anti-racism and anti-bias work at Milton.
