13-09_nestoMilton’s Nesto Gallery launches its 2013–2014 season by presenting Connections/Conexiónes, an exhibit that brings together the work of local sculptors and notable Peruvian artists. This artists’ collaboration is part of a future show,Visions/Visiónes, which will exhibit in the Qorinkancha Museum at the Convent of Santo Domingo in Cusco, Peru. Connections/Conexiónesfeatures pieces inspired by a confluence of cultures. Drawings and models of work by Boston Sculptors Gallery members that will be shown in Peru hang, in Nesto, alongside art by Peruvian artists.

The exhibit will showcase Boston sculptors Caroline Bagenal, Kim Bernard, Gillian Christy, Murray Dewart, Donna Dodson, Rosalyn Driscoll, Laura Evans, Peter De Camp Haines, Nancy Winship Milliken, Andy Moerlein, Nancy Selvage, Liz Shepherd, Jessica Straus, Nora Valdez, Hannah Verlin, Joseph Wheelwright and Leslie Wilcox.

Peruvian artists featured in the show include Ronald Alvan Alvites, Pablo Yactayo Chumpitaz, Jacob Sulca Gutierrez, Persi Narvaez Machicao, Jose Luis Morales Sierra, Ivan Rojas Tobar and Victor Zuniga.

Connections/Conexiónes will run from September 20–October 25 in the Nesto Gallery, located on the lower level of the Art and Media Center. The exhibit is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
