This year, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends representing 33 countries and 44 states endorsed Milton Academy’s leadership and priorities, ensuring Milton remains a thriving, innovative center of teaching and learning. Total Donors

Tuition only covers approximately 71% of a Milton education, so other revenue sources, such as the endowment, help to bridge the gap. The endowment creates a reliable funding source critical to long-term planning and helps minimize Milton’s dependence on tuition, enabling innovation in every corner of the campus.

From engaging discussions around the Harkness table to spring break service trips, gifts to the Milton Fund sustain the vibrant opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and challenge themselves. The Milton Fund provides a crucial 7% of the operating budget for Milton annually that meets a wide range of the school’s needs. Whether through extracurricular activities, financial aid, or resources for talented faculty members, your generosity empowers Milton to shape future leaders and engaged citizens through a commitment to a world-class education. Members of the Milton Fund’s donor societies are the lifeblood of Milton Academy’s annual current-use budget. This year, 57.2% of donors to the Milton Fund were members of Milton Loyal, which recognizes donors who set a philanthropic example with three consecutive years of giving or a recurring gift to the Milton Fund. Members of our 1798 Circle, which recognizes our steadfast leadership donors, generously contributed 81% of our total Milton Fund dollars. Milton Loyal and 1798 Circle members ensure Milton’s financial stability and contribute to making a meaningful difference to our students and teachers. Thank you!

Fall Reunion Challenge: 

In November 2023, an anonymous donor challenged the fifth through 50th reunion classes to secure 100 donors by the end of the month, with $50,000 for the Milton Fund on the line. Alumni came together and surpassed that goal with 108 donors! Thank you to all of the reunion-year alumni who gave in November and to the challenger for kicking off our Reunion Gift campaign and supporting today’s students.

Giving Day: 

On March 6, 2024, the Milton community came together like never before to support the people, programs, and opportunities that cultivate Milton Connections for students inside and outside the classroom. The energy on campus, across the country, and worldwide was palpable. Alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends exceeded our 1,000-donor goal, broke previous Giving Day donor records, and earned the $100,000 challenge from Board of Trustees President Claire Hughes Johnson ’90 P ’24 ’27! Counting on You Challenge: 

In June, an anonymous challenger encouraged donors to renew their support, fueling the essential resources for the many people, programs, and spaces Milton students count on daily. In a tremendous demonstration of their commitment to Milton, our community exceeded the 160-donor goal and secured $50,000 for the Milton Fund! Class of 1999 Challenge: 

An anonymous challenger from the Class of 1999 offered to match classmates’ donations 2:1. This generous gift helped the Class of 1999 exceed their reunion gift goals, with 32% of the class contributing $177,005 to the Milton Fund, which includes the matching funds. Senior Gift Challenge: 

The Class of 2024 banded together this year to meet their 55% Milton Fund participation goal. They secured $10,000 for financial aid from two young alumni siblings who generously and anonymously issued the challenge. Thank you for setting an example of the fantastic things your class can accomplish for future generations of Mustangs!
