Fundraisers for special causes
Past examples: disaster relief, local public school and shelter supplies

Senior Project sponsorship
Internships at area schools and daycares, or at agencies serving elders, disabled or homeless populations. Examples from recent years: Taylor Elementary School (Dorchester), Collicott School French immersion program (Milton), Women’s Lunch Place (Boston), Milton Animal Shelter, Children’s AIDS Project (Mattapan), Milton Residences for the Elderly, Boston Home (multiple sclerosis), Brookwood Farm, Samaritans

Special programs organized through courses

  • Choral performances for local elders
  • Science class assistance at Brookwood Farm
  • English students tutoring Boston peers in writing
  • Art projects focused on social justice issues

French course service learning projects (new course in 2016-2017 – French in the Francophone World)
Students study Haiti in French class then interview children in the bilingual Haitian Creole/English program at Taylor Elementary School, Dorchester; interview Haitian staff members working at Milton Academy

Cooperation on service activities with other student clubs

  • Asian Society: regular tutors for ESL learners in Chinatown

Latino Association: Mural for Mujeres Unidas Avanzano
  • Class IV and III: mitten and pajama drives for local children
  • Girls’ basketball team: court time with Brookview shelter kids
